This is the itinerary for the annual Joel Bender Memorial Nationals (aka Summer Blast) event from the MAMN12 group. I attend every year and it has has always been a great late summer weekend venue to attend. It is a car show, picnic and drag race day all rolled up in one weekend. ;)

Below is the itinerary for this years JBMN SB 11 event. As hard as I try to keep costs in place and have done so the past couple years unfortunately this year the price has gone up slightly. (Cost of food and Venue) However its still affordable and I believe everyone will like the accomodations, scheduling and change of venue this year!!!!

The Itinerary will be as follows:

Friday August 24th - Meet and Greet at my home starting at 5PM until - ?

Saturday August 25th -

(1) MAMN12 Track Rental at Mason Dixon. Registration 7:30 AM-Racing begins at 8 AM
(Attendees have option to attend track rental, relax, shop or free time Saturday morning!!)

(2) We will meet at the Comfort Inn and cruise to Hagerstown at approximatley 3 PM. We will be going to a new all you can eat buffet there then head to Valley Mall for the Saturday car show. We should be there before 5PM. We'll park there for a couple hours and have a good time conversing and looking at the other cars. (Bring a chair). We can then head to Petrucci's around 7:30 and get some Ice Cream like last year. After that your choice.

Sunday August 26th - 10:00 Am Line up at Comfort Inn. Police escort 10:30 to Inwood to our MAMN12 Car show and picnic/banquet site at Heritage Hall. Car show will begin shortly after 11 AM until approximately 1PM. Our picnic/Dinner/Awards ceremony will begin at 1:00 until approximatel 3PM. At that time those that need to depart can and the rest of us can meet at the hotel parking lot for evening debriefing.

Costs this year are as follows:

Car/Driver/Racing including Picnic- $95.00

Car/Driver/Racing including Picnic with passenger- $115.00

Car/Driver (Non Racing) including Picnic- $20.00

Car/Driver (Non Racing) including picnic with passenger: $40.00

Children 6 - 10 are $8.00. Children 5 and under are free!!!

The Buffet in Hagerstown is $10.00 each plus drinks (Not included in fee). Something to eat there for everyone. The meet and greet is FREE and is sponsored by the Bender family (Rick & Harriet) and Mtncatracing. You must bring your own bottle but food and other drinks will be provided.

I will post payment info as soon as it is available. If you plan on racing, it is important to send in payment as early as possible so the track rental can be reserved!

The track rental is a PRIVATE track rental for 4 hours with plenty of opportunity to run your car at the track as you would like. We will likely have a couple hours open test and tune followed by grudge matches and more test and tune runs. Should the event be rained out (ONLY as determined by the track), money for the track rental portion of the event will be refunded.

Please note non-racers are invited to attend or they may set their own plans for Saturday morning. (There may be a small spectator fee)

Hotel accommodations have been set up at the Martinsburg, WV Comfort Inn (same as previous years).

Room Rentals will be $72.00 at the group rate!!!! We have a block of 20 rooms. Reservations must be made NLT than August 10th! Afterwards the remaining rooms go back to the hotel. Please state you are with the Thunderbird Car club and whether you want smoking or non-smoking.

For those that want to share a room, find someone thats coming and split the costs! We want to make this as affordable as possible to those that want to attend.
