I've noticed that my mileage has dropped from 18 mpg city to 16.8 mpg city over the last 6 months. I have recently had the fuel filter changed with no difference in mpg. The car idles fine, drives fine, takes off fine. Just wondering what may be causing this.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

O2 sensor maybe?
Is there any black smoke coming out the exhaust or exsesive gas smell?

I have had my mileage change between states and brands. Sometimes the gas formulas are changed which affects the mileage. Missouri went to 10% ethanol in the gas, but some stations have etanol free premium. If your state uses ethanol find a station that has ethanol free premium. This is usually readily available near where there is a lot of boating. Ethanol definitly reduced my mileage. Hope this helps, also find the highest octain avail. Hope this helps solve the puzzle.

You know, a guy at NAPA told me the same thing. I get Shell and there is a big sign that says can contain upto 10% ethanol. Wonder what brands have ethenol free?

SHELL!?!?? There's your problem right there.........Chevron is the way I go!
