Mustang Keyless Remote Works

Fyi, once I got my Mark VIII on the road this weekend I noticed I didn't have a keyless entry key fab/fob (however you spell it, remote/transmitter).

I took a transmitter from my late Cobra and went through the programming steps. Works like a charm! lol

So fyi, if you need a remote and run across a cheap Mustang 4 button (or even my friend's 3 button for his V6 Stang worked) you'll know it works. And it will save you the whatever steep price Lincoln would charge.

Fyi, 1996-1997 4 button remotes don't have the "Mustang" symbol on them. Just a plain-jane "will work for any car" remote. ;)

RE: Mustang Keyless Remote Works

My 2002 Mustang spare remote would not work with my 98 Linclon.

Yeah, now that you mention it I remember that Ford made the frenquency range much wider on 99/00 and later models. Technically, there was (I think) 16 combinations or so. With the new wider range, it was many more combinations.
