I have seen a few pics on here that show mark VIII's with cobra rims on them. My question is will any mustang rim fit if it is from the 5-lug era? Any more pics of cars with mustang rims would be appreciated.
There are some aftermarket rims that will fit the Mark VIII that look like cobra rims. You want to look for a 5 x 4.25 boltcircle. The Mustang is a 5 x 4.5 boltcircle and not a direct swap. Some have swapped out the hubs to accommodate a larger selection of wheels.
Thanks driller! I work with a guy that put LS 17" rims on his 95 mark VIII and only need wheel spacers for the front to keep the weights from hitting the calipers.
I wouldn't recommend wheel spacers, but done correctly you could use up to 1/4" spacers with no problems. The wheels are hubcentric which means the spacers would need to be as well.
I keep seeing pics of a beautiful deep red Mark VIII with 03-04 chrome cobra wheels on it and it looks outrageous! I take it those are aftermarket wheels made with our bolt pattern and where can I find them??
Since where on the topic how much is it to do the conversion what parts would I need to do a mustang swap? Do you think this will work "WIDE 17" x 10.5"! The rear wheels are +27mm offset with 6.63-inch backspacing."
