RE: My '93 MK8 and '88 Turbo Coupe

Nice looking Mark! That Thunderbird looks really clean too. Are they both stock?

Really clean and that Thunderbird is sweet too!

RE: My '93 MK8 and '88 Turbo Coupe

Thanks for the nice words guys! I'm pretty happy with my lineup. ;)

sleeper, the Mark is bone stock right now. I plan on sensor lowering, some new wheels (possibly Cobra R's or something along those lines), open up the airbox/remove the silencer, and true duals. Nothing too major.

The Thunderbird is pretty much stock except for a K&N cone filter and the boost is bumped to 18 psi from the factory 15. It's a good bit stronger from 0-25 mph (having a 5-speed really helps), but the Mark wouldn't have much of a problem overtaking it after that. In other words, the opposite of what you'd expect with a high-pressure turbo vs a V8!

RE: My '93 MK8 and '88 Turbo Coupe

I'm particularly partial to the 87-88 T-birds. I had an 88, which was my first (and only) new car. I still think the 87-88s, especially the Turbo Coupe, were the best-looking of all the modern 'birds. The 89s and up were a step back in my opinion (and I owned a '95 for seven years). Loved those tail lights, with the round outlines against the black. And that huge sweeping rear window. Actually, the Mark VIII, especially the second gens, have many similar styling cues.

Mine was a lowly 3.8 V6 (which eventually succumbed to the usual head gasket failure -- still I got 175K out of her), but I have lots of fond memories associated with that car. I better stop before I start getting all melancholy. ;-)
