My first air ride problem

I knew it was bound to happen sometime, but this is starting to get under my skin. My issue just started two weeks ago, and it is intermittent. Here are the facts I know-

1. The air ride system operates as it should under city driving conditions.

2. After achieving freeway speed, the compressor vents to lower the car. However, the venting continues past where it should stop on the front end, causing the compressor to start pumping again. This causes the check air suspension light on the dash.

3. While cruising on the freeway, I can shift the trans into neutral, turn the key off, and restart the car. This resets the air suspension, stops the venting, and the compressor raises the car to the correct height.

4. I pulled compressor, tested and cleaned the connections, checked the dryer and vent, and replaced both front solenoids.

I called and talked to Eddie at American Air Suspension, and he seems to think that the strut is leaking air when the car lowers. I'm not so sure this is the case, since when I shut the car off and back on, the venting stops. Does anyone here have any ideas? Has anyone here had this same problem? What about the relay mounted to the side? I'm trying to do what I can before I just start throwing parts at it. Or before i decide to get a different car...
