My Marks Destiny / My Dream

Maybe I haven't fully informed you of my history in drag racing, my uncle (Eric Emerson) and grandpa (Al Emerson R.I.P) are in the NHRA, My uncle has a 1967 Firebird that started out at an 11 second car. Now, the car is full blown w/ 14-71 Littlefield blower, runs on alcohol. My grandpa had a 1959 El' Camino and its best time was a 9.48 and would do the most impressive wheel stand you had ever seen, clear over my head and in 6 foot! It was on the front page of NHRA and an article titled "Al's El" . We still both own both cars and the Firebird should be dipping in to the 7's next time we run it.

Anyway - Ive help turn bolts on both these cars, many many hours in to them both.

Ive turned to you guys for my technical problems for the mark since it is such a complicated car. Very complicated.

When I get my financial situation worked out this is what I want to do with the car. I want to remove the 4.6 and the 4R70W and replace it with the 5.4L 32Valve engine, and put a big supercharger on top. With the matching tranny and rear axle gear as well. I would like to keep all the electrical components working as well as the air ride. What kind of wiring harness would I need to put this engine in it? Let me know what you guys think.

That's pretty cool. I didn't even know about drag racing til I was in my 20's. I think that kids who know about it and are comfortable with it are more in tune with and respect the power and danger that a car and road racing represent.

Yea, I love cars, especially these cars. Though, I have had some outstanding speeding tickets but the worse was 59 in a 40. I was just cruising! I had no idea I was going that fast, Ill be on the highway cruising at 80 and it feels like im going 60. I have respect for the road for I have crashed my precious 81 T-bird at 80 on a bridge. I might take someone up to like 50 every once and a while but rarely ever.

Why would you want to stick heavy lame truck motor in your car? There is no real advantage of going with a 5.4L. Just the stock engine is going to stick out of the hood 4-5 inches, and then you are going to add a blower on top of that? hahaha, good luck with that. Just because it has more displacement doesn't make it better. The Teksid block is the best you can get for these cars.
