My Wife and Dog are Certifiable

Not mentally, but Tammy and Maverick passed the San Antonio Delta Society test again for Pet Therapy. This is a program where a dog and handler visit the sick, elderly, schools, etc. to promote healing, learning and pet companionship.
Last year Tammy and Maverick were named the Delta Society Pet Ambassadors for San Antonio. They visit the elementary school in our neighborhood to promote reading, a nursing home, and injured soldiers from the Iraq War and other sick folks at the local military hospitals. This is a picture of Tammy and Maverick working at the recent dog show.

CONGRATULATIONS Tammy and Maverick from my CGC and TDI Certified Therapy Dogs Otus and Artemis. It really is an amazing experience watching them learn and when they pass their tests it's like watching your kids graduate from Harvard!

Otus and Artemis are especially popular at the "Reading to Dogs" program at the local libraries, they just get mesmerized at the kids reading them stories.

By the way, a Great Dane fell in love with my little Artemis the day she passed her TDI. She spent a full half hour licking his face! Pictures here.
