Need guidance on fuel pump change/upgrade

Just a basic question for those of you who have upgraded/changed a fuel pump in a GEN TWO MARK...

From what I can see, there are two offerings:

-One from SCP that looks like the stock assembly with a Walbro pump inside
-One that is the OEM part for the SVT Focus

Both can be had for similar prices, and both need minor modifications to install.

Is either one easier to install?
Is either one notably cheaper?
Is either one significantly noisier than the other?

Thanks guys and gals,

-Dom

Just put some hamsters in there with small buckets, should get you enough fuel!

J/K, let me know when you are doing this, you can use my garage and help if you need to.

The SCP piece is a focus pump. There are no instructions per se provided.

Buy the Focus pump from one of the online retailers, maybe Jon on Tccoa in the Ford Parts section.

For another option... I have a Ford GT supercar pump connected to a KB BAP in my Mark. From what I was told, the install is cake, and fit just fine. :)

I do not remember what I paid for my old SVT Focus pump last year, but I think they are close in price. The part number for the Ford GT supercar pump is MOTORCRAFT Part #PFB81. Rock Auto list price sells them for $97.00.

Your Vette has two fuel pumps, why don't you just let me use one of those??? :D

I was thrown off by the fact that the SCP website says there is a Walbro pump inside the assembly, unless Ford put Walbro parts in their OEM pumps. Bill emailed me a copy of the directions for the wiring connections. Thanks J.

Mike, thanks for this info. I will look into it if I cannot find a Focus pump for a good price. I imagine with 16 injectors, the GT pump is likely even higher capacity than the other solutions (completely unnecessary, but I like the price!)

The description is off on Bill's website. I have really no clue why he does that, but he ships an OEM focus pump to you once you buy a 2nd gen pump assembly ;)

By no instructions, I meant that he emails or sends you info he received from someone who installed it in his car, etc ... very unprofessional if you ask me. It's not that the install is any difficult, be it a focus or any other pump, even the super pump ;)

lol J, No bragging here. Just wanted to be clear... You know, the first time I don't say "supercar", there will be someone out there in internet land reading this thread and assume I am talking about a Mustang GT, and go and buy a fuel pump for a 4.6 Mustang GT. :)
