Need Help with Broken Brass Fitting

Lurking....always Lurking
I have a broken brass fitting in the transmission body of my daughter's 2004 Dodge Neon SXT. I need some suggestions on how to remove the fitting without damaging the transmission housing.

These are the inlet and outlet that route transmission fluid to the cooler built in to the radiator.

The fitting broke off while I was removing the hose from the fitting. The break is pretty clean, and it is right against the transmission housing. There is nothing to grab with a pair of pliers to attempt to turn it manually.

Any ideas? I'm willing to rent/purchase the tools necessary to do the job, I just don't know where to start.

Thanks in advance!

Ron

Especially with brass, an "easyout" is the best way to go. They come many sizes and you would want one that fits about half of its swirled length into the bore of the inside of the broken fitting. As you turn the easyout counter clockwise, it will set the swirls into the bore til it gets tight enough to start unscrewing the fitting. Piece of cake.

Yep...easyout, they're actually pretty cool and you should have one in your toolbox! Plus, you're already set, you don't have to drill or anything. A long skinny one would work best that way you can go deeper. (not like that....)

Thank You!

One trip to the hardware store later......
