Need new front and rear rotors and brakes

For my 94.

I have to get this done today, so I don't have time to run through a search.

I am on a budget and I hear that autozone has good rotors for the mark. Should I get autozone gen2 rotors for the front? what about the back?

As for the pads, I do a lot of driving (30,000 miles a year) and a lot of it is highway and city driving with heavy braking. What typer and brand of pads do you reccomend for the front and back??

RE: Need new front and rear rotors and brakes

I drive a fair amount and have been through almost every combo of rotors and pads. The setup that has lasted the longest is:

Cheapest autozone rotors available + top of the line semi-metallic pads from NAPA.

Just my $.02 ...

If I get the 2nd gen rotors for my 94, do I need 2nd gen brake pads as well?

Thanks, guys. I went with Autozone rotors for all 4 wheels and Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pads for the front.

The pedal feels a bit spongy, though. I do't think my mechanic bled the brakes. Should I bleed them?

RE: Need new front and rear rotors and brakes

Get some speedbleeders(bleeder valves with integral check valves) and bleed them yourself. Get 2 large bottles of quality brake fluid and monitor the reservoir quite often. Bleed out about 1/2 bottle for each caliper.

At your next panic stop, you will be pleasantly suprised. ;)

I have found that Valvoline Synpower brakefluid to be good. Also Autozone now carries Morse Ceramic pads. Bout $38 a set, and we been selling the hell out of them!
