need opinions

this is my first visit here, thanks for any input.
i found a real nice one owner 1978 continental mark 5, mileage is not known for sure yet, they tell me the engine was just completly rebuilt, mainly because of a long storage. the car spent at least 15 or so years up on blocks and under a car cover in a garage. Looks the the headlight doors are not working, most likely a vacum issue (i guess). i havnt had a chance to look it over real close but it looks to be a good find. i dont know if it is a 460 or 400 engine. It has a half vynil top and a giant moon roof too great paint and is rust free from what i can see with out looking closer

so any advice on what i might need to keep an eye out for would be really appreciated,

oh the asking price is 2500, and they tell me everything works even the A/C,
so i will go by advice here and will go look it over a little closer soon.

thanks again for any help

WELCOME!!! :)

Personal opinion...

Rebuilt engine
15 years in covered storage
rust free
$2500
everything works even the A/C

For the price, it would be hard to beat. Sure it may take some investment to be truly road-worthy, but a chance to own one of the truly last full sized luxury vehicles of the 70's would be priceless.

I've always admired the long sleekness of the Mark V, and of course if it does come with the 460, the powerplant is a torque monster. If it were me, I'd be all over it. :D

If that thing is HALF as nice as it looks in that pic, it's a steal!

Think of it this way, the 400 CID engine should get better mileage! ;)
