Ok, I removed it, cleaned it, bent the little arm, and still no good!

I bought the Neo Changer, with 15 connectors to make connecting a snap into factory trunk cd changer, but they dont cover LSC sony changer.

I need some help here, which aftermarlet trunk mount cd changer replaces our SONY model one?

Thanks for any help!

It's a Clarion and it's very good - better than the Sony. Maybe someone here knows the model #. I used to until I sold the car in March '03.

Had the same bad luck with my cd changer in my 96LSC. I think you can call the Ford dealer and they can tell you.

Man, someone a while back posted a link for bolt on changers for ford cars, sorry bro, I cannot seem to remember it, maybe some else still does.

Moe... ehhhhh... don't mess with perfection! :)

As for CD changers... very few stores carry them any more. Not much selection. Mostly 6 disc changers available. Apparently, the 10-12 disc changers have a higher incidence of problems. Most "good" aftermarket stuff will run at least $400-$500 for the changer, one of those protocol transfer doo-hickeys, and installation. Not sure if you'll retain ALL of the factory features.

Can get a replacement unit from cdchangersonline for something like $250. They don't say WHO they're made by (apparently they use a number of companys). You'll also have to run new wiring from the head unit to the changer (the harness is different).

Another option is to replace with a factory unit. Online shopping shows a price of ~$800, but there's a $500 core charge, so net cost is $300 & can just plug & play.

Good Luck-

I have my CD changer out of my car. I am installing a CD/MP3 changer and a new head unit. I will not need the stock CD changer anymore. PM me if you would be interested.

I know I'm late but hopefully my insight will help. I just changed out my 10 disc Sony with one I got from CDchangersOnline. It is an Audiovox, 10 disc changer with....get this....a 3 YEAR warranty. That is the best warranty I've seen for electronics. Check ebay for a listing for CDchangersOnline, since you can get it cheaper there, than directly from their website. I paid a total of $237, shipped. It comes with the changer and the correct protocal coverter thingy for your vehicle. All you have to do is run a single line from the trunk to the head unit. To my suprise, it only took me about an hour, and I was being a perfectionist with the install. This was a week ago and I am totally happy with the unit. All of my CD buttons still function correctly. Let the tunes continue!
