It's a '99 AWD/4WD with the 5.4L DOHC. :)

It was a local one owner vehicle and has 146K on the odometer. It looks to have been well maintained, but has been lanquishing the last few months on a small used car lot. Strangely enough, it was the lot owner's former personal vehicle (that's the same story as when I bought my '93 Mark VIII). :D

While not perfect, it will be a perfect winter vehicle for the household and will help keep the '06 Town Car off the winter roadways as neither of the two Mark VIIIs go out in the winter. I also plan for it to do double duty as a tow truck for when the Blue Flame goes on those long trips to the track.

I had them replace the battery, install new brake pads all around along with a new park brake cable before I took delivery. I inspected it on a lift and found no particularly disturbing issues underneath but a small leak in the transfer case (a common FLM issue). The interior is remarkably in good shape with the driver's seat showing the worst wear. It came equipped with the second row bucket seats and a removable 3rd row bench seat. It has a couple minor issues and needs a good detail, but otherwise appears to be mechanically sound. The ABS light occasionally illuminates but the lack of any unusual noises leads me to suspect a wheel sensor. It has stock 17 inch wheels/tires and while I'm not necessarily fond of the current all-season Continental tires, they have plenty of tread to last 'til next winter.

I'm looking to do some visual upgrades like window tint, billet grille, hood shield, vent visors and possibly some HID headlamps. Before the end of winter I plan on installing a HD tranny cooler and have Lonnie set me up with an Xcal2 for towing performance and economy. I may look into some exhaust upgrades as well.

john, nice , copy cat lol, if you want a billet grill contact my buddy ryan at grilletech.com he is in the same shop complex as me, has a huge waterjet and everything in his shop, thats all he does is grille's. he already has some programmed for the navi, he asked me if i wanted one, but i told him its my father in law's navi so i didnt need one. i'm just curious what you paid for it if you dont mind telling. is the interior gray or tan? ours also has the rear buckets and removeable 3rd seat, rear ceiling tv, rear ac and heat, and seperate radio controls.

So do you tell Mrs. Driller that as an officer of the club it's a requirement to own at least one of every Lincoln vehicle manufactured?

Looks great JP! Congrats.

Nice find JP, that is a great vehicle. Iv'e owned 3 of them and they are great. My first one was rear ended with me in it stopped in traffic on I-75. The cargo van that hit me was doing 60 while the driver was reading a book. Although it was bent good I managed to drive it home, and it took 10 weeks in the shop and $24,000 to fix as it only had about 10,,000 miles on it. You coud never tell it was hit. They are great creature cars and built solid, with lots of room. I always took out the rear seats so I could load up my sales stuff and throw my suit case in. I had two Black ones and one Blue one.

Thanks all, I think it will serve the household well. I don't look to put a lot of miles on it so the mileage is not a factor to me. Like I said, it appears to have been well maintained.

Sharon, Mrs. Driller is as much to blame for this as I am. :fart

LOL, we both have good tastes? Thanks for the tip on the grille, I'll check 'em out when I get ready for some bling. :)

With the exception of the tv, it sounds like we got similarly equipped models. The interior is tan.

I didn't steal this one like you though! I paid 6 large for it. It was listed for $7500 and I can tell you around here it would normally sell for that and more. 4WD's around here fetch premium dollars. This one was in much better shape than most I've seen for the like price, so I'm more than satisfied.

Can you tell me anything about the ABS on the Navigators? I looked at a ABS code scanner, but for $300 I passed.

Some interior shots...

Nice vehicle!

I did some testing on some of those right out of the factory back in the day. We were only allowed to put less than 50 miles on them. We had to put stickers on the windows stating that they had been through special quality testing.

Nice and quiet vehicle.:D

I love it, lol, not a winter beater if you're gonna fall in love and fix it up JP! :D

Time to paint the Marks black and you'd have all black Lincolns!

Haha, it's not love, it's lust! :D

And it may be the winter beater, but it's gonna be in style! LOL

I wonder what my insurance agent is gonna say tomorrow when he finds out I bought another Lincoln? :lolgrin003:

I got it already figured out what to tell him. "I wanted to help save the planet and buy a Prius but the wife wanted a 13 mpg four wheel drive honkin' big SUV she could drive the 6 days a year it snows too much for the other 3 cars."

Hey driller you know i have a nice mrk8 so why dont you adopt me so i can drive the other cars you have as well lol

The thing is, I only have the one garage and the Blue Flame lives in it. LOL, well your car would look right at home in the driveway! :D

I got no prob with parking it in the driveway, but as long as you remember its a package deal so i hope you got room for me too lmao:big-grin:

On the brightside, if he doesn't have room for you in the house, at least you drive a car with very comfortable seats :)
