New blend door working fine but not good heat

Is there a valve that controls heater core flow?

New blend door motor moves fine makes full travel i can put finger on it and feel it move and see it move all the way from cold to hot.
Heater is just sort of warm,
Flushed system, new stat etc.
Even put back a stock 195 t-stat removing my 160
Engine temp at 200
Heater barely blows 70 degree air when 40 outside.
If i speed up RPM it gets warmer so appears flow related.

Could it be bad core or is there a valve that controls the water flow?

Clogged core maybe? See if you can get to the hose that flows in to it and feel if it is hot.

Probably a clogged heater core. Try blowing it out with compressed air. I've seen some nasty white buildup from coolant before.

Beware, this may fix your problem and it may cause a heater core leak. If the heater core is clogged, the clog could be covering up a leak even. So it may be time for a new heater core anyway.

Grief thats what i was hoping not to hear... i love pulling that dash out... JOY...

This little problem surfaced after having to use some radiator stop leak crap which i vowed never to use in my lifetime but when my cooling crossover pipe busted in front of the alternator and was spraying water everywhere i could only patch with rubber hose pieces and a hose clamp and used some stop leak to get home.

Then 6 months later heat doesnt work for squat.
Maybe that stuff is clogged up in the core although i have done a full coolant system flush 3 times since then.

I will try back flushing the core and see what happens thanks for the tips.

Remember you are in Austin. You need that cold air more than that darn heat. It was 30 degrees today here in San Antonio, and I didn't use my heater. Of course my blend door needs TLC too. Make sure the air is working come March.

The manual recommends that the heater core be flushed separate from the cooling system.

Actually its not me I am so worried about but i am heading north over holidays and the girlfriend loves my fancy car with its great electronic climate control... except all i have is 60-70 LOL

I almost could care less about heat... but bugs me when things dont work in front of the ladies.

BTW i will flush core this wkend and see what happens... what do you flush it with just water backwards from garden hose??

Also if someone knows which line is the one that needs to be flushed from ie flow direction??
