I found a used engine with 68000 miles with a 2 year warranty for $1,200 Is that a good price?

If you consider the warranty good for $500-$600, yeah that's a good price. I personally would get a second opinion on the diagnosis. Rod knocks are usually prevalent under load.
The knock happens whether or not there is a load on the car. Its is an actual knock you can feel as well as hear. I comes on at about 3000 rpm and is there from 3000 rpm and higher. The issue isn't the toasted engine anyway.
The following website has four pages of Mark VIII engines for sale ranging from $3,000 to $350. I didn't know what year your Mark is so I searched for 95's.
