Hey guys,
I thought I would introduce myself to this community. My name is Logan and I just recently bought my first lincoln on Saturday. Drove to Detroit to get it, it's a 1997 Mark VIII LSC Black with Beige interior. I bought this as a cruiser for my 3+ hour commutes up north in the spring and summer, and for daily driving when I'm not at school (I'm a Michigan State student). My other car (a 97 mitsubishi eclipse GSX that makes around 400HP) doesn't offer the comfort, automatic climate, air conditioning, and that V8 roar that the lincoln does so I'm very excited to start driving this car! I bought my Lincoln for $2k so it isn't prestine by any means, here is some info on it:
Good:
Clean Title
Wife's car (I think this is good)
Heated leather seats
New tires
New suspension parts (tie rods, bushings, etc..)
Came with a folder full of maintinence receipts
Car has had blend door replaced, improved oil pan that holds less oil
Service Manual
Ice cold A/C
transmission shifts smooth
No exhaust holes
Bad:
Major clearcoat peel on roof only
Hood has some decent scratches
Some bad rust in front of rear driver tire
Significant rust on passenger door
Headunit buttons don't work
147k miles
Shifter is somewhat stiff and hard to put in gear
Neon light doesn't work
Converted to dangerously dim halogen low beams
All in all I'm excited about this car. The previous owner was a mechanic that did A LOT of maintenance work and documented it all. I've already ordered a new ballast and new headunit which I will be installing this weekend. Also planning to run some seafoam through and fill with premium (owner ran regular in it).
