My name is Jj. I am a 21 year old college student that also works at a junkyard full-time. I have had my 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC for a couple of years now. The engine threw a few valve springs after being such a beast for some time and I finally put it out of commission. The engine and transmission are both removed, and the engine bay is clean. I'm trying to figure out what do I want to go back in there... If I wanted to, I could've just put the same exact setup back in, but while this engine is out, the 'while you're in there' mods are screaming my name. Long story short, I want a 5.4L to go in here... I don't care for the idea of just running 4.6 with forced induction. I don't care about building up a 4.6L in this car at all... If I had time, I would be sourcing an even larger engine to put in here, but there's a reason why I chose the 5.4L... I have a few things that all seem to fit together quite well. From top to bottom, here goes... I ported a stock throttle body with the IACV hole and knife-edged the throttle plates, I ported the 1999 cobra upper lid, I have the MMR spacer, and I cut open and ported the 99 cobra lower manifold. I do have some tumble port Intake adapter plates to make this intake fit onto the 5.4 block. The cylinder heads that I have going on the 5.4 block are the revised tumble port castings with the 9-thread spark plug hole; these are the DB casting cylinder heads. They have been ported on the exhaust side, 5-angle cuts on the intake side and I ported and polished the combustion chamber and measured each combustion chamber with the spark plug torqued to have a volume of 54 cc (there's a reason for this). They do have factory 96-98 cobra intake cams sitting in them, and I will be running a rear coolant pipe. I haven't done so yet, but I will be testing a Lincoln LS 3.9 V8 passenger side cam-chain tensioner on a scrap passenger side B head... if that doesn't work, I will be buying the MMR unit. The 5.4 block has been torque plate bored and honed to .020" over and I have some regular 2.66 cc dish 4.6 hyper-eutectic pistons that will be going in it. I also have a 4.6 Mustang GT oil pan (though I would rather a larger oil pan) and a MMR composite windage tray. Under drive pulleys, of course, and even tuning software (Delta Special Forces). I have new gaskets for literally everything, new hydraulic lifters and finger followers. New valve stem seals... Everything is new. There are a few more things that I would like to get, like an oil cooler, larger oil pan, and a custom connecting rod of 6.78" to complete this engine, but as of right now, I have the majority of the ingredients to build a very stout and powerful N/A 5.4L DOHC. For that reason, that's what I would like to put in there. My lincoln is the reason as to why I made this account, and I hope to hear some advise on this build from you guys. Thank you for your time.
