Hey all! I just bought a 1996 Pearl White base Mark VIII with 88k miles. It's a bit of a project but in great cosmetic condition. It had a bad plug wire and the front suspension leaks. I will post pictures asap!
What I would really like to know is will the 97-98 telescoping steering column retrofit to a 96? And would the column allow the wheel to come closer to the driver? Anybody that has driven a early and later model can tell me? I'm assuming that it would bolt up and there is one in the junkyard right now.
The problem I'm having is that I'm extremely tall and would like the steering wheel closer because I have the seat all the way back. In fact I've already ripped the dead pedal out and slotted the seat track mounting holes for more leg room.
But all in all these cars are awesome! I just smoked a mid 70's Corvette last night.
