RE: New Pickup Truck on the market

Hahaha i've already seen those built by the general public as a custom one off thing.... then again my friends dad cut the pillar out of his 63 Sting ray only to have GM remove it in 64 LOL. funny since Ford uses thier engine...i guess they can use ford's bed :D Well anyways there not bad to drive but i don't think it should be given to the general public...

"So you get all the attributes of a commercial truck – but you don’t need a commercial driver’s license to drive it.*"

Wrong. I nailed a cocky soccer mom the other day in an excursion. She did'nt have the proper class license to drive the vehicle. Same goes with most F-350's and such.

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

RE: New Pickup Truck on the market

What class license is needed for a F-350?

RE: New Pickup Truck on the market

a cheuffers licence, probably. one of my friends got nailed in a cube van without a cheuffers license. if you get nailed for that in an f350 the cop is having a bad day, or just doesn't like soccer moms }(

RE: New Pickup Truck on the market

No offense to my Northern brothers, but not all of us think the same way...

I personally think this truck is fantastic. Why should one make fun of people for owning big trucks? It's just like making fun of someone who rides motorcycles on the street or sleds in the snow. (sled = northern speak for snowmobile if you're not from that part of the world).

I have owned and participated in all of the things mentioned above, but I still ride by bike - (bicycle) - to work every now and then as well. None of the above indicate that I have either a Napoleon complex -(4X4 truck), nor eco-nut tendencies - (bicycle).

Sure the Intl. truck is over the top, but does a person really need a 200+mph bullet bike or sports car? Probably not, but I still want to be able to own one someday!:D... In fact, my family probably doesn't "need" a '96 Mark VIII in the garage when the minivan and truck are all we need, but it sure is fun to take her out for a spin a couple of times a week.

I say do what you enjoy, buy what you want and can afford, and try to make the world a better place in everything you do. There are already enough people trying to tear it down out there.

Bottom line - At least one Canadian likes this truck, but also fully respects the opinions of those who don't. Hope you all have a great day!

Best Regards,
Eric "Canuck" Erickson

P.S. Ron - Just think of all the bikes and sleds you could pull behind that beast!

RE: New Pickup Truck on the market

It's useless, really. 7MPG? And the bed looks only like a shortbed even. For 99.5% of people, a regular diesel pick up will tow all they ever need. I'm sorry...I still think the owner of a truck like this suffers from "Teeny Weenie" syndrome....

Sure I could tow my sled/bikes...but I generally ride my bikes. No trailer queens in my house!! I get pissed when I have to tow my sled...LOL...Oh..and a 200MPH bullet bike still gets over 40 MPG!

RE: New Pickup Truck on the market

Its got a full size quad in the back. I dont think its a short bed.

By friend has one similar its a Top Kick with a huge CAT engine in it.He uses it to haul his 38 Ft Fountain around. He was ABLE to tow the boat with his F 350 but it struggled. So yes there is a use for these trucks.

RE: New Pickup Truck on the market

Of course there's a use...for towing HUGE loads. Not for moving a quad around.....

RE: New Pickup Truck on the market

every one needs a vehical to fit there needs, there is nothing wrong with that. i enjoy having more then one because i like to use them for difrent situations. it is like using tools you just use the right one for the right job, you can use a pair of vicegrips for every thing you work on. well you can but if you have the option i recomend using the right tool.

Making the bay area safer one less soccer mom at a time :7

RE: New Pickup Truck on the market

Well, if you dont know how to drive it and you are driving into other peoples lanes threatening their safety, then I guess I am.

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

There are exceptions to EVERY rule, but RRocket is right! That trucks only purpose is to full fill the ego of men.Who looks for self-worth in a truck.
