New rear bags but can't get it up

I finished installing the new rears, lowered the car; but not all the way. I took a third jack (glad I have several cars) and replaced the suspension relay since I was getting the error immediately upon starting the car. The compressor kicked in but I think I had the rear too high and it didn't fill the bags. I don't want to lower it much more as the bags will be smushed, but tried lowering it a little more. It vented the front but did nothing to the rear and I think I've fried the relay as now it gives me the error again. (It was used to begin with.) The left rear did vent, so it's getting some signals.

I'll try unhooking the battery, and expect to get a new relay Monday, (ANOTHER $70.00 down the tubes...) but would really like moral support as I'm afraid I'll screw up the new bags if I don't do this just so.

Advice? Experience? A way to bypass these stupid relays?! Every time something goes wrong with the suspension I have to buy a new relay! The brake relay is already a suspension reject, so it's probably not worth "borrowing."

Suggestions? I was hoping to have the car running by lunch...

RE: New rear bags but can't get it up

I did call Eddie, that's who I bought the new bags from; along with my compressor before that. He has always been very helpful but was out of pocket last weekend. He called me back Monday.
He had me turn the suspension switch off and on about ten times, (the car wasn't recognizing the suspension at all) and that worked. Next time I started it the compressor kicked in. I had lowered the jacks to below ride height but not flat on the new bags, hoping the rears would fill up----- and they did! WOOHOO!
I have to finish putting the car back together tonight and will hopefully get to test drive it.

Except for sensors, lines and the module I have officially replaced the entire suspension. Now it's time for the battery, alternator, A/C and such to start giving me problems. I was thinking about a new car but am probably going to keep mine a while longer.

I did finally cut down the insurance to liability only. Now some uninsured maggot will hit me...you watch.

'Glad it's working!

I know what you mean about insurance - both my cars have full coverage, even though I only put about 500 miles a year on the T-Bird, (it's my hobby car now). I've never been in an accident, but just thinking about what it could cost me keeps me paying the premiums, for peace of mind... Hopefully you've got better drivers in your area.
