I just purchased a 1 yr old Pioneer AVX-P7300DVD head unit. I am not a fan of Pioneer but have never had any Pioneer equipment. Is the quality very good. I have always bought Kenwood and have never had any problems. I quess I am asking about reliability. I curently have a Kenwood Excelon cd/mp3 reciever in my Mark VIII and love it, but the Pioneer has a 7" screen and DVD player plus everything the Kenwood has. I bought the Pioneer for $200.00 and I'm not sure if I want to put it in the Mark. I want worry free operation, which I have. So do I put the Pioneer in the Mark and put the Kenwood in my wifes Jeep, or vise versa??? Any help from people who have had Pioneer audio equipment.

RE: New Reciever, now some questions

I've had two pioneers and one kenwood. My kenwood is holding up MUCH better than the pioneers did.

I've been through 3 of those Kenwoods with the DMASK+ auto flipping face. I'll never buy another again. I have an old Pioneer 7200 (one of the first "Dolphin" decks) thats at least 3 years old and still going strong. My Premeir 6400 is still going too.

I have always had good luck with my Kenwoods. Low budget great sound. I got a great deal on the Pioneer though. My uncle bought it new a year ago and now needs the money to put plates on his truck. So when he offered I jumped on it. I got the AVM-P8000R A/V control box and the AVX-P7300DVD 7" screen DVD player all for $200.00. I beleive I am going to be putting it in the Lincoln.

TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!! I'd be ALL over that! I have the same setup in my car, and it kicks ass! You can do so much with that unit, it has outputs for aux screens, multiple video inputs so you can hook up MP5, VCR, or a camera. It's setup for Pioneer's Navigation unit, as well as anything using a P-Bus data cable. One thing I would strongly recommend that you purchase is a Pioneer CD changer, as you won't be able to setup the sound settings (in CD mode)without it. It will play CD's in the DVD slot, but will play it as a DVD, using a very plain display that only shows the time and track. To me the changer is a MUST with that unit. Let us know how it works out for you.

Joe,
Where did you mount yout A/V control box? I hate to mount it in the trunk and then run a radio antenna wire from the front to the back and then one back up to the front.
