New times witch VORTECH

RE: New times witch VORTECH

Really nice times! :)

I think I know where that track is at. Is it north of Evansville, IN/Henderson, KY?

RE: New times witch VORTECH

Awesome times !! If you can, try and put up a few pics of the finished product. I can't believe I never see you, I live about 10 minutes away and always am driving through Burbank. PM me and let's go eat some trans am's and cobra's this weekend ! :)

wow great times!! I'm VERY jealous! What kind of PSI are you running?
[/div]
This is on 7 Psi witch stock Gen II Intake manifold.Cobra Intake manifold going in next week and I will take it to the track again to see the difference between Gen II and cobra intake manifold.

RE: New times witch VORTECH

With mods like this...

...Cobra crank,Manley pistons,Manley rods,...

... isn't 7 psi conservative? ::roll::

maybe but with stock exhaust manifolds he could still burn an exhaust valve.

RE: New times witch VORTECH

Nice times! My present goal is to get in mid 8's in the 1/8th. But 12's in the 1/4 mile is sweet with a 3,900 pound car... looks like the group is finally catching up to the Impalla SS's slowly but surely. Have any of you gone snooping over there to scope the scene? They got some pretty stiff competition for the next Lux-Barge shootout for MMFF. My car definately needs a diet to make up for their bigger cubes, but theres always that fat shiny bottle in the gymbag to make the DOHC happy...The ZEX wet kit with the WOT brainbox is on order.

RE: New times witch VORTECH

Hows your trans holding up? Are you still manually shifting and what rpm? For what its worth my 2-3 is now set at 6900 but actually shifts at 6300. Theres a place dyno pro performance do a net search hes an sct tuner owns a dynojet for at least 5 years. He quoted me 250 for a retune probably same for you. The stock tach might read 500 rpms lower than actual. Now that you are swapping the cobra intake before you retune you could.
Do a search for ssr intakes do a short runner (easy) then imrc delete then do an upper intake dividerless intake making the divider at the imrc point. Egr delete plus pcv delete I run 2 pcv valves in each valve cover with 2 feet of tubing on each. I cleaned my secondary intake valves. Are you still running the 3k convertor?

Hey Glen I had the trans problem because my trans was overheating but I add second trans cooler and no more problems. I am still manually shifting at 6800-7000 rpm. I am still running the 3k convertor but I am not happy with the 3k stall,Soon I will go with 4k stall convertor.I want to put the cobra intake manifold,headers,exhaust,4k stall converter and hit 11,s .

RE: New times witch VORTECH

Good times. I wish I had run mine with the 3500 stall and the headers before I took it apart.
