So it has been a crummy weekend to begin with, and I just nursed the '86 about 20 miles without brakes, after a fresh snowfall. I'm really thinking I should consider an upgrade. I could smell fluid, but didn't check to see where it was coming from. maybe tomorrow..

Those of you who made the new New Year's party (or saw the photos,) know the car I'm talking about. over 330,000 miles, and pretty rusty, it's been a good car, but the rust is becoming a major problem. New fuel send and return lines last year, annual exhaust bits, The power steering is pretty far gone, and of course it looks like heck. And now a brake line somewhere..

I did some quick craigslist searches, and came up with the following two strong contenders. The prices are definitely right.

Any thoughts?

This one had me at "handling and performance package," and the included snow tires are a nice touch, but the mileage is high-ish. (177k)

This one is a color I like, has very low miles, and is apparently a rust-free Florida car. he mentions "minor cosmetic issues," but doesn't specify..

I haven't called either of these folks, or rounded up the cash, or anything, really.. but I thought I'd throw it out to the experts for some free advice. In a perfect world, I'd have a 2005-7 or so, in blue, green, or black. I just don't have that kind of cash these days.
