Nice Stock build

Have '93, 165K Miles, all stock, JBL, Factory Moon Roof, T-Control, CD Changer, etc. All Stock to start. What I did:
1) Trans-GO shift kit. One setting below "Hot Conterter. Chirps 2nd nicely.
2) '94 intake tube. The '93 Dimpled wonder doesn't work. Replace with a '94, Remove resonator chambers and snorkel tube behind the front bumper.
3) 3.73 Traction Lock. Wow!! major difference! With the shift kit and gears, I can chirp tires at 1/3 throttle or less, and it has authority.
4) TR6 NGK plugs, MSD wires. Plugs set a .055. Stock coils are fine if they still work. Be sure to run 93 octane only. EEC-IV will advance the timing until it hears a Knock.
5) Be sure the intake, EGR and Idle Air Control valve function well, and aren't gummed up. Use Sea Foam Profusely.
6) With just the above and a good running car, there is ZERO shame to coming in even with a 3V GT. It'll be close.

RE: Nice Stock build

Good mods, I would have got the Baumann shift kit and 4.10 gears however. And 3V GT's have run as fast as 13.4-13.5 stock with the manual. Your 93 would be a good race for an auto 3V GT though.

RE: Nice Stock build

Heck, if a 3V will do 13.4, there's no way I can keep up even with an auto 3V. I'm probably low 14's.

RE: Nice Stock build

Auto 3Vs are not all that much slower than the stick. The times of the "slush box" are over. New automatics deliver better fuel economy and performance than stick. The new GT should spank you, no offense but the Mark VIII can't keep up with that new motor and 300pounds less weight, even with the gears.
