That new Nissan Titan is BADASS!! And it's huge! And here's the best part: With only 305 HP, the Titan puts the big hurt on the Dodge Hemi too....Titan's 0-60 time is faster by a full SECOND!!! And through the quarter, it's only a hair slower than the Chevy SS !!! This is one stout truck!!

What's funny to me is that the Lightning (or supercharged Harley Davidson) absolutely embarrasses anything put next to it from a Sport Truck perspective. The Chevy SIlverado SS is a very WEAK effort on behalf of GM to come up with a truck that can be mentioned in the same sentence as the Lightning.
The Titan does look like a cool truck though. Look for it to compete with current and prospective Tundra/T100 owners, but don't think a die hard Ford, Chevy or Dodge man would even think about buying a NISSAN!!!

I think you'd be surprised how many people buy the big three not because they like it, but percieve it as the least of the evils.
The Tundra hasn't caught on better becuase it doesn't have enough engine, nor is it heavy duty enough. They're supposed to be fixing that, but it will be a little while.
This year's new tundra 4 door is supposedly bigger in bed and cabin than the new bigger F150 super crew.

i am really surprised by nissan. they put out a good competitor to the big three. I dont think i would ever get one but i am sure quite a few folks will cross over to this truck. (not the die-hard guys though, but gm, ford, or dodge could put out crap and those guys would still buy them)
Personally i am sick of hearing the word "Hemi". A very small percentage of the public actually knows what it stands for.
The only truck i am planning on buying is one to tow my race trailer, a nice diesel 1-ton dually with a fifth wheel race trailer.
Other than that, i have no use or desire for a truck. I want to go fast and hold high lateral acceleration, and no truck can do that as well as a car with less weight and a lower cg

Unlike Toyota, Nissan really did their homework before building the Titan. Everything I've seen so far has been positive and it is quite impressive on paper. Although I'm not sure about Truck of the Year, the new F150 will give it good competition for that title.

They had a Titan and an Armada on display at the mall during Christmas, so got to see both. Styling-wise, they're beautiful trucks... lots of unique & innovative features- great design work.
In my opinion, the only area where Nissan dropped the ball is with the interior plastics & fabrics... both of which looked, felt, & sounded VERY VERY cheap. The new F-150 may be slightly less dramatic in the exterior styling, but is finished MUCH nicer than the Titan (my opinion).
Seems to be a recurring theme with Nissan. My mom had an '88 Nissan 200 SX. She really LOVED that car. The interior fell apart within 3-4 years. My aunt bought a fully-loaded 2002 Altima 3.5SE- which she's now looking to get rid of because the interior's falling apart. She said they offerred her $16k in trade... pretty dramatic depreciation for a 2 year old $28k vehicle. Geez, almost as bad as a lincoln! Then again, the used car market totally BITES right now. Great time to buy... bad time to sell.

So the F150 won truck of the year over the Titan. Was that because the higher advertising dollars Motor Trend will get when Ford uses 'motor trend truck of the year' in their ads over what nissan would have paid..........you tell me?
Motor Trend criticized the Titan for not having as many platform options...........Ford sells 500,000 F150's, of course they have tons of options!
