No Turn Signals or Emergency Flasher??

I have read some of the previous posts but still not sure what to check first. We tried the emergency flasher today and it did not work. Then we discovered that the turn signals didn't work either. But then they did a little bit later and now they don't again. As far as I can tell everything else is working correctly; lights, etc.

What should I check first, second, etc.?

Thanks, Fife

Have you checked all fuses and relays? Have you checked/replaced the flasher(s)? What year Mark do you have? Tell us what you already have done....

NOTE: Some fuses are under the hood, drivers side as well as on drivers side dash area.

Sounds like a typical multi-function switch case of dirty contacts.

Try 'wiggling' the flasher button while exercising the turn signal stalk up/down. That's worked for me before.

i would check the flasher, but i also had this problem in my geo tracker, try hittin the bottom of the steering wheel and if they start working, then i would condemn the multi function control arm, the arm can have a bad connection due to years of use and the metal slowly being worn down

Problem solved! The fuses were good so I began to "exercise" the turn signal and hazzard lights. Nothing. Then I sprayed contact cleaner around the hazzard light switch and almost instantly the turn signals and flashers began to come back to life. A few more hits of the contact cleaner and it is now working as good as new. I wish all fixes were this easy!

Thanks for all the suggestions,
Fife
