1995 MKVIII LSC with 102,000 miles. Everyday on the first start up I notice a noise which sounds like a pop off valve and/or hissing or something to that affect. Once I start the engine and start driving the car the moment it shifts into third gear the sound occurs. It does not happen again until sitting over night and starting the next morning even though I drive the car all day stopping and restarting the engine. Does anyone have any ideas what the sound may be or from where it is coming?

It's been a while but I know this is a normal function, it's an ABS check of some sort if I remember correctly. Nothing to worry about!
