devin are you doing a 150 shot? your mph goes from 95 to 109 that is insane.
No, it's "just" a 100 shot. Part of the difference is in the tune. When I do motor only runs I am doing that as a baseline with a completely factory tune. When I am on the bottle, I have a Reinhart tune that pulls back a bit of timing, but also changes the shift points, firms them up radically, clicks on the fan almost immediately, etc etc etc.
On the bottle I launch at 2500 rpm with an 11 horsepower shot that ramps up to the full 100 over the next 3 seconds and street tires just pretty much won't hold, so I do that on drag radials. I usually do my baseline runs on street tires, which are just a little bit taller and usually cut into my times by about a tenth or so.
I guess what I am saying is that there's a lot more going on that just adding 100 horses. I am benefiting from a cumulative effect of several things. Back before I added the tune, the stall converter, the drag radials, the exhaust cutouts and the progressive system I would run about a 14.7 on motor at 94~95 mph and a 13.7 on a 100 shot at about 100~101 mph.
I will say that the times that I have been getting are a *hell* of a lot faster than I ever expected.
Also J: Didn't you have 4.10s in your car? I run with 3.73s.
Incidentally, on the off chance that anybody thinks that I am just full of BS, Junkman frequents the same track I run at, so he can independently verify everything I am telling you. (That sounds a little paranoid, not meant to be).
