Now I'm having Win XP problems (will it ever end)

I just built my mom a new computer yesterday, and when i am installing win XP, during set-up in metioned a couple dozen files it could not install. I had just used this disk when i fixed my computer last month and had no problems, so I don't know why i would have any now. It gives skip those files, but doing so will not allow the rest on windows to install. Why on a brand new hard drive would windoze have problems installing anything?

I have to say - bootleg software is wrong ...try polishing the CD, maybe a little canned air in the CD player.

Did I miss something? Who said anything about bootleg software?

I think he meant that seeing how he installed it on another computer prior that he now tried to install it on a completely different computer, it is now "bootleg".....which is NOT the case. If I recall, he just used it to try to repair his 'other' computer. MAYBE???

I thought he was talking about his HARD disk, not Windows compact disc.

Sorry I'm late, been busy.

The windows disk is one I purchased retail for my computer a few months ago. I used it as recently as a few weeks ago when i had my last computer problem i posted about. MEanwhile I built my mom a computer and am installing my windows on her computer to save her $200. If that's bootlegging, oh well, it's my mom we're talking about here.

The windows disk is flawless, and the cd-rom brand new, i'm pretty sure those aren't the problem. As far as I can tell the hard drive is junk, i purchased 3 items from www.3btech.net, and this makes 2 that are DOA. Thanks for the help guys
