OEM rotors and pads vrs. ceramic?

The guy at the brake shop wants me to use OEM parts when I have my brakes done (He gets a decent price) I am fine with Ford rotors, (2nd gen) but was wanting ceramic pads to cut down on dust. I don't really have a big brake dust problem now, but have no idea what kind of pads are on the car and don't want a problem.

Opinions???

I say go with the ceramic myself. I haven't seen any tests or empirical evidence that they are better, but i have no squealing, i seem to have a lot less brake dust than before, and the only fade problem i have is when i boil the brake fluid.

Raybestos QuietStop ceramic pads are the only ones I'll ever use again in front. There's no comparison versus OEM when it comes to dusting. With the OEM pads, I was having to clean my Cobra R rims every couple days. With the ceramic, it's been over a month, and there's less dusting than I'd get in two days with the OEMs!

I have much less dust with my ceramics, but my powerstop rotors are horribly badly warped. I found out too late you can't use that combo. With OEM rotors you should be fine. I've noticed that until heated up the ceramics don't brake well though...

I have had great luck with OEM rotors and NAPA Ceramix break pads. Less heat, less dust, great consistent breaking.
