Oil filter adapter

Well it was my turn to replace the oil filter adapter housing after about a year of it getting worse. I did this on my 97 with 157,000 miles It was time when I could see it dripping while the car was running.:frown:
You must drain the oil and antifreeze first and also remove the oil filter ...:D
Like someone stated it is " easy" to get at the three bolts through the opening where the sway bar mounts to the frame. The fourth bolt you can see from under the car and take it off there.
The bolts are 10mm. I used 3/8 drive. You need at least 12" extension with a swivel. Do not attempt it with out the swivel you may damage the bolts.
I was able to pop the gasket off and swing the housing up without removing the lower radiator hose. Small hands is a plus :D
The hard part was cleaning the antifreeze off the floor after I took the housing loose because my drain pan was too small
Putting the gasket in was a trick. I slid it in place then started the lower bolt first to hold the gasket in place. this takes a bit of finesse.
This is the short version !!
