Money is no object. Most be some what realistic ie. the engine you want must fit. (cutting is allowed)

Id go the GT40 engine hooked to a sequential electronically shifted transmission.

Full cage but most of the visible interior remains. Remove sound deading but put the carpet back down. I am afraid id have to ditch the airride in favor full coil over tube suspension.

Narrow up the back end to fit at least a 300 series rear tire. Torsen diff. Remove the ABS add an adjustable brake system with a bias bar. Big stinking carbon rotors Large sticky tires. Not sure what wheel. maybe some BBS lace wheels from an American lemans car.

no spoiler but maybe a front splitter or just a larger aid damn. A diffuser under the car should give pretty decent down force.

so in pictures

Twin turbo big block and no spray needed.

Twin turbo big block and no spray needed.

Being a fan of the BB Pontiacs I say "There is no replacement for displacement". Soooo whip out the summit catalog and a credit card, add Chevy 572 BB, Loose the carburetor, add Edelbrock 3528 to the manifold, Gale banks turbo kits to the twin turbos mounted off the headers, Tub the rearend with coil link suspension and the widest wrinkle wall slicks you can stuff under there, add wheelie bars and ladders. Loose the entire interior and full roll cage it. That pretty much would let you dominate any big dog class i think there would be. More than enough HP and plenty overboard on the all important torque 3900lbs of car or not, you'll be in the 10s or 9s easy.

I have my ultimate mark for sale............it would be a great starting point! forged motor........blower...ultimate sleeper! I love the car!

Mike, it would be nice if we could ALL afford that Mark!!! Hate to see what that thing is worth right now! Hope you have that monster under a special insurance clause.

traded in on a new vette.

but if we had to keep the mark, something simple. terminator motor, HUGE ken bell, t-45, super queit mufflers, true sleeper style.

I wish everyone could build their own ultimate Mark, Bud. :)

It brings a smile to my face every time I fire the beast up. That alone, is worth the price of admission. lol It certainly is not a good investment, and I never thought it would be. My car is definitely worth more taken apart. :)

Charlie says it best - it is my gold watch. :)

I have dreamed of the ultimate Mark and here is my vision:

Color: Bright Green with pink polka dots.

Drivetrain: 2.3 motor straight from a '72 Pinto less 1 spark plug (it's my vision damnit!) with auto trans and 2.29 gears!

Interior: VW bug all the way! Basic seats, metal dash (painted body color) and so forth.

Wheels: 13" wheels with white walled P155/80/13's all the way!

Suspension: Remove air ride.............and put nothing else in!:big-grin:

I was about to start on mine . I plan on putting the road race car stuff on mine soon too . The engine is gonna street legal and a Ford , but really big !!
