On the way home from Carlisle . . .

It was a great trip home, except for the stop in Ohio for lunch.

We stopped on 80 West at the second rest area for lunch, about 12:30. When we were leaving (just after 1:00), we saw a horrible thing. While we were inside, a bad wreck had happened right in front of the rest area on the highway, between the enter/exit ramps to the stop. A silver Gen 1 was resting up against the center median (cement), and it was totalled. It looked like it had spun in the road, and hit both front and rear passenger quarters hard against the median. I can't get it out of my mind, and I sure hope the people in the car are ok ;(

It is terrible to see something like that. I hope you had a safe trip home.

Mark VIII's hold up to accidents pretty well, i'm sure the occupants were fine. Was it anyone at the show?

I passed a couple of Gen2's that had Michigan plates on them, both white and I thought one was a CE, was it one of them?

We probably missed you by 15 minutes, Leo. We decided it was best to head home early this year. We had an hour round trip to pick up our livestock (doggie) after getting home.

I couldn't tell if the wrecked Mark was from our club or not. I couldn't see the license plate, because of the trucks and people in the road with it. We were racking our brains to remember if there was a silver Gen 1 at Carlisle. I think if there was, it must have been in the Modified group. We both cringed when we saw it :(

Iv'e looked through all of my pics of the event, and there is no silver gen 2 in the modified section. Jeremi's was the closest to that color.

that said...... I hope the driver AND owner of the vehicle are all right.
