Outstanding Fuel Mileage

I had to drive to Buffalo last week. As always, I like to reset my average mileage, as soon as I get on the expressway, to see how it does.

I got 31.5 for the 300 mile trip!

I was in no hurry, and do about 5 mph above the limit. I didn't have to run the A/C, I think that's one reason why it was so high.

I checked the miles to empty after I filled up, this is the highest I've ever seen:

I understand at highway speeds, you MAY get better mileage with the A/C ON and the windows closed! DRAG

Which car were you using? That IS impressive!

That was the green car. I didn't have the windows down either way. That makes sense about the drag though.

I had to run the A/C on the way home. It only got 29.5 then.

I pulled off 31 on the way home from the FL panhandle to the orlando area once, no a/c and windows up (during the winter) and this is very doable.
