Painted Door Molding

RE: Painted Door Molding

You can get a wood kit that will cover almost all of it --- they dont only come in wood, but also colors, carbon fiber etc

RE: Painted Door Molding

I'm not a big fan of the stick-on wood either. That painted look looks like it will look good if done right, but it may be a lot more work than you expect to get it done right.

"Should I paint my door molding to match body color. I hate this black crap it scuffs way to much."

Brad, If you don't touch it... Yep, you guessed it - it will not scuff. Just one of many thoughts I just had. Let me know if you want to hear any more of them. :p

DJ (aka MaddShadez) had his interior trim painted - and I think it looks extremely cool and unique.

Just a question, but, don't you have to be 18 in Chicago to purchase a can of spray paint? Maybe you could go with Trixie and tell them she's your Mom.:7

Put the Photoshop down and step away from the car.

NO, Im I big kid now, Uh huh thats right. I can buy spray paint, I did the other day so me and my friends could get high. Plus I would get it done right and take it to a body shop. Not your half asses that buy Walmarto brand paint.

RE: Painted Door Molding

Just my humble opinion: I think white would look odd with the tan. In an all black or all gray interior might look OK. Not to mention the fact that if it gets scuffed yet again, you'll have ugly black marks on a white background instead of black marks on a black background.

Also, and I'm just basing this on what I was told by a body shop guy a long time ago, if you've ever Armor-All'd it (or used any silicon-based "protectant"), the paint won't adhere as well because it's nearly impossible to get that stuff out. Like I said, I could be wrong about the last part.

RE: Painted Door Molding

I use Pledge, I was thinking about the tan not going with it, but my friend told me it would look goood because white goes with everything. I wish I had an all black int. Anyone wanna trade. mines in near mint, I got a few scuffs on the black panels but you could buff that out.

RE: Painted Door Molding

No I dont want stickers to fix the problem
Hi guys;
If you go to http//www.autoaccessorystore.com you will find an example of a sticker set that isn't TOO tacky. The photos are from my car and I have had it installed for a year now and here in Arizona where the car interior heat can reach 140 degrees in the summer, the set still looks fine and is wearing like a factory install. The best news is that the price was well under $150.00.
I realize that the stick-um type interior is very much a matter of taste, here's one that one of us has tried and the vendor (somewhere in Staten Island) is using the install for an example.
Good luck in your final choice and let us know what you decide.
