Passenger side seat -98

Is there a manaul override to move the passenger side seat when the seat stops working? It is all the way forward and I can seem to get a tool to take the seat off? I checked fuses and there is power there. I checked the main wiring harness from the car and there is power there. But I can't seem to get any power to the switches. Any one have a diagram for the passenger side seat? Or any one else every ran into this problem and have words of advise?

My drivers seat on my 94 died one day, it turned out that the switch on the side of the seat was no longer making contact, so I took it apart and cleaned it, and then it was fine... But beware, it is the most complicated, full of little parts, who the hell designed this thing, switch... I guess GM held all the good patents for the simple designs, cause it seems needlessly complicated.

anyway, good luck! :D -J

I would check power at the switch and see if you get power at the seat connector using the switch.

JP has the seat diags I think. :)

First, thanks JP for the wiring diagram. I am not an electrical person and I got stumped. So what I did was remove both seats and tried the driver's side harness on the passenger seat and it didn't work. Then I switched the control switch boxes and that didn't work either. Any other idea's for this electrically challenged individual?

Did you check for power at the switches? Have all the fuses been checked? If swapping the harnesses and switches did nothing, I'm thinking a common power or ground fault is the issue. Either one, no power or an open ground, would cause the same symptom.
