Pics of New Head Unit Installed

Alright, first off I am ridiculously thrilled with how this came out. I flipped out when I saw it, because the guy went over and above the call for me. I was initially going to have the plexiglass painted in the Imola Ice, but after I saw what the installer, Jay, did with the satin black finish, I was beyond happy. He used 1/2 inch thick plexiglass, and he flush mounted the unit so perfectly it looks factory- he even went as far as matching up the little felt edging to the plexi.

Marcus saw it tonight and gasped, "Woh!." Thanks again to Marcus for taking these pics over coffee tonight!

RE: Pics of New Head Unit Installed

Looks awesome man. I love that Head unit, it's super versatile. If I wasn't saving up for a P9, that would prolly be my top choice. With a double DIN opening like that you may want to consider adding something else, like a nice EQ, DVD player, whatever. It looks awesome, but I hate to see the bare space.

When I painted all those peices out of my car (i think I had 22 peices painted, something like that) I sanded them all down to 2000 grit. Getting all that rubber crap of is a true pain, but man my interior freakin shines now. You'll love the look.

I love it. In the first pic I was skeptical but after I saw it from a further perspective it really shows it's squeeky cleenliness. Love it. Props to your installer.

Very nice and a clean looking install. :)

Does it pick up AM Talk Radio programs? ;)

How much is that head unit? I need one and I love Pioneer. Do you guys know if that will work with my old Pioneer 12 disc changer. I previously had the Pioneer 8200 tape deck with the fold down face.

RE: Pics of New Head Unit Installed

Hehehehe...you got any sleep last night, John, or did you spent the night with your new head unit??? ROTFL!!!

But, no kidding, the unit is really cool, and the visualizations look only half as nice in the pics as in real, especially those really cool VU-meters I like ;-)

Marcus.

get ready to fork out a good 800 bone for that bad boy.

on a related note, are all marks Double DIN? and what is the exact size of a DIN?? Just trying to figure out how much stuff I can stuff into my dash!

RE: Pics of New Head Unit Installed

The unit sounds very good as well. I am actually very surprised how good it sounds playing through the stock JBL system. I have none of the weak signal or spacial problems that others seemed to have had from adapting their new head units into the stock amp.

The vocals are good, and the instrumentals are very clean. This unit also has 8 equalizer settings and approximately 8 spacial settings. One of the things I really like about the unit is how easy it is to key it into the type of music you are listening to- at any given time. Also, the spacial settings, such as studio, hall, dome, actually give the feeling of being in each respective venue- i.e. - many of the settings actually work to create a particular feel, rather than other units I've seen that these type of functions seem more for show.

The unit also has a one touch adjustment for the passengers' persepective. With this you can make the music 'focus' on any one seating position in the vehicle- accurately..=)

Also, the blue led almost matches the led in the Mark.

Here's a pic of my LMS gauges that caught a really bad skin disease.
Not to worry..Geno is replacing these with custom gauges right after Carlisle..=D
