There is a web site called City Hall. It has been posted here in the past. I have not visited it in a while, but have really enjoyed visiting it in the past. It picks up where this board leaves off. When I am in the mood to shout and argue with people about political views, I go there. It is a great way to voice your opinions and learn other peoples points of view. You will find several members of this board posting there as well.

RE: Political web site

I can't wait until you resign or are removed as a Mod.

Instead of making things better around here, you're making them worse. Hopefully after the elections, things will change. Have a nice night!

Nothing personal and no flame intended. The club just needs to move in a different direction. Maybe I'm the guy that has it all wrong, but I don't think so. A Mod shouldn't be able to start a thread and then moderate it, too. That has clearly caused a problem in this situation. I would love for the club to turn over some of the activity going on behind the scenes in the "Moderator Forum". I bet the flames burn bright in there.

Looking forward to seeing what Ron had to say. Ron send me an email, not a PM. Hopefully you saved your post. I have gotten in the habit of saving all my posts on my drive before I post.

Edit: Thanks for changing your sig! Don't you feel better?

Bryan, if you only had a clue.

Why don't you take your whining off the board and deal face to face so to speak with those who are "ruining" this club. Wait, maybe you should stop to think that it might be you, who thinks that your opinion is the only one that matters.

Your constant public complaints, which twist the truth, really are getting tiresome. Do we have to be innundated with your opinions on how the board should be run every time there is an interesting thread posted?

And I'm so glad you think you deserve to know everything that goes on around here - including people's private conversations. Maybe we should just appoint you to be King of LOD.

RE: Political web site

Bryan,

Yeah..some things need changing. I'm assuming the original thread got yanked. At least he warned us in the first paragraph if it got too hot he'd yank it. Although I'm not sure what ultimately caused it to be yanked. The last post I saw was mine, and I said I wished we had a political forum...think I even had a LOL and a smiley in there too! It was a good natured post. Not sure if something followed it up though,...beats me. LOLOLOLOLOL....I noticed he changed his sig as well...LOLOLOL..depending on which side of the fence you're on, you'd think he was doing that to "flame"...or maybe he's just be a funny guy. Great forums. Great people. Just needs a little tweaking....

I second the King nomination....LOL

RE: Political web site

Come On Trix. I have heard about all the flaming going on in the Mod section. I see a Mod post a thread and then threaten members to not get out of line.

Show me where I am twisting the truth? Examples please.

Just use the thread function that allows you to skip over a particular members post. Like mine. Just skip over them. There are several of you, and you know who you are, that can't stay out of a conversation, myself included. But in my case, I make a point and then will defend it. You guys don't make any points, you just whine when you don't like what you are reading. Big difference.

It is people's private conversations behind the scenes that are half the problem. Myself and a couple others recommended several months ago to put in a forum where this kind of exchange can exist without offending other members. Just like the poll thread that asked if members wanted an explanation of why there post was deleted. We have moved being deletion issues to outright censorship issues.

What was wrong in that thread that required the whole thread to be eliminated? Was Ron provided an explanation? Where in the Charter does it say that there can be no discussions of differing viewpoints?
Heck, we can talk about everything else under the sky around here. If you guys can't see fit to allow a discussion about the potential harm members could suffer thru recently enacted Supreme Court rulings, rulings that affect all of us as motorists, I think the club is going to find it difficult to move forward.

RE: Political web site

I changed my sig because of your complaint. The point of the sig was not to offend, but obviously it did. I am not so full of myself as to think that only my opinion of a subject is correct. I am willing to take constructive criticism and reconsider my views. As for your personal attack on me, perhaps we should all take a moment and review the R.O.C. I am going to look at them as soon as I post this. I encourage you to do the same. Why you hate me so is beyond me. I dont remember ever doing anything to you. Perhaps we have different political views that offend you. I dont recall deleting a single one of your posts. Any post I have deleted in the past has included a very friendly note to the person and a request to hear back from them if they disagreed. Dont believe me? I suggest you ask around. I hope we can work out our differences. This kind of anger is counter productive to the success of our board.

RE: Political web site

Regarding that Political Web Site:

When it first came to be, some of you might recall that I had real issues with it. However, allthough I do not wish to participate, I must endorse it. Some people on here have developed very friendly relationships with others. This is good. Some of these folks enjoy talking politics and religion, with one and other and exchanging ideas. This City Hall provides this for them, and keeps it out of here, a car-club. This way they can all go as a group and share in the exchange of their ideas. I don''t see anything wrong with that. What if several of us found out that we are also dog lovers. Would it be so terrible to find another spot to go to as a group to talk "dog" ??
To post it's existance on here, once in while, to alert newcomers ain't no sin. They go, if they like, they hang around. If they don't like, they leave. No biggiee, as I see it. It's definately NOT for me, but I would not stand in anyone's way - nor speak badly of them for going & staying & enjoying what is there. My .02 cents!
