Preparing the car for Carlisle?

Every year, I have stuff to do to the car before Carlisle, not including washing and waxing.

Post your projects here if you have them.:)

Here's my list, I may not get them all done:

Get my bumper repainted and mounted with new chrome strips.

Get my new rear glass installed.

Get some dings removed.

Install new front brake pads.

Install my better seats, console wood trim, stock radio, message center keyboard, and door pad black strips.:)

My list was VERY large this year, since I only put 300mi on the car last year it really was due for some much needed maintenance.

Done already:

new oil pan
oil change
oil filter
tinted front windows
cobra brakes
hub swap
new wheels and tires
rolled fenders
new battery
new battery hold down
new battery terminals
new fuse holder
re-did finish on woodgrain steering wheel
ray switch
new sill plate trim
alignment
nail in tire repaired
new lug nuts
new wheel locks

Still needs to be done:

remove woodgrain shifter
replace cell phone antenna
exterior detail
interior detail
shifter handle surround
install new quick disconnect neg terminal
new battery in key fob
hopefully repair drivers seat lumbar
load mustang spare into trunk
new wiper blades

Im sure theres quite a bit im forgetting, but you get the idea.

Now, that's a list!

Did you ever find an original cellphone antenna?

I'll be replacing my glass, let me know if you want that one.:)

I want one, I gave mine away to another member, and then bought the CE which has a cracked one...

My short list

My short list

Since I bought the car last month and drove it home 1187 miles from Ft Lauderdale, I had a good feel for what it needed. Over the last 4 weeks I have got many things done but still a few to go.

Paint body side moldings (tomarrow)
Paint front LP bracket & install
Install the Auto Dim mirror
Full Detail
LOF
Find & install LH sunvisor
and anything else I can think of.

Oh and still find time to go to work 55-60 hours a week.

still working on that. Im going to the junkyard saturday, hopefully I can come up with something.

Well... Since I have no time to do everything I wanted to do I condensed my list as much as I could... :D

Buff out both headlights
2 stage paint buffing w/Porter Cable
Remove wheel weights/polish wheels
Have wheels rebalanced with stick on weights
Polish exhaust tips
Have car tinted 35% all around (interior isn't being touched :frown:)
Bumpers NEED to be painted but I'm just going to touch them up for now
All new Ford air springs/shocks
Valve cover gaskets/plug tube seals
Full tune w/new COP boots
Transmission flush and filter change
Front rotors/pads
Install Intech cover

Hopefully that's it!

Does everyone want the cell phone antenna for originality? If so you can have mine too...once I get the windows tinted.

I'm gonna feel neeked. I will wash, clean and wax mine, but as it's the daily driver, it'll stand out as such too! Hope you'll have areas to have both the showcars AND the DD's!!! LOL

Joe, if you need it back I will gladly hand it over. Your car is much nicer and deserves to be complete. Mine is, well, ya know... It is what it is. :D

As for the list,
1. Repair IMRC's and replace all related gaskets.
2. Replace both valve cover gaskets and plug tube seals.
3. 3 stage buff with 3M Perfect It system.
4. Get new driver's side seat bolster. Still have'nt found one though
5. Finish sanding and buffing all four light assy's for a fine upstanding gentelman. Actually working on them as I type.
5. Repair rear neon by replacing the ballast. Still need new ballast.
6. Clean interior thouroughly with new Mothers stuff I just got.
7. Pray that it will make the trip to Carlisle without falling apart. LOL!

Thats about it!

I got my first photo of my bumper today. I had no idea the bottom could shine too. :)

Almost done

Almost done

I am not sure if my list is getting shorter or longer.

Moldings painted
Front LP bracket painted & installed
Auto Dim Mirror installed (OMG how I missed that thing)

and then yesterday:
OD switch quit working...found break in harness...repaired

and then today:
Power Antenna quit...tape worm broke...installed new mast

still need to do:
Find Sun visor and install
LOF
send out for professional detail (next Saturday)

Park in garage till I leave.

Pray for great weather...no rain.."Don't rain on my parade" or fresh detail

ug... my grey car was hit while parked at my house yesterday...

The damage looks mainly to be deep scratches in the paint down the pass side rear fender and bumper...

I haven't had a chance to really see how bad it is yet...

Some people have all the luck though
