progress pics of the 94 im painting.

thanks guys, its nice to know not everyone will pick apart a paint job i do considering i have never gone for any kind of schooling for auto body. alot of people would run if someone put a spray gun in their hand and said go paint that car. not me, i'm not affraid to try anything, i have about a dozen cars under my belt in my 30 years, that isnt much, but its 90 % more then the do it yourselfer would attemp. the car has 4 coats of base, ( 2 whole gallons ) and 3 heavy coats of clear. i just met them at the shop so they could pick it up, they absolutely loved it, i told jeff in about a month, after i finish painting his other car, and get situated into our new house ( get the keys tomorrow yee hawwww ) then i will get it back in for a wet sand and buff. i would have done it now, but i want the clear to get nice and hard, plus with moving to the new house i have way too much on my plate, i wasnt going to paint this car till after i moved so they got it early and i got paid sonner, perfect timing too that money is going towards us getting into the house! i even went to the shop today, yup christmas, who cares, just another day for me lol. i swapped the snowflakes from the owners other mark ( he bought 18's ) and i put his on her car because there are 4 brand new 245-50-16 cooper zeon's on the rims, so now she has nice fat brand new tires, i also went into all the wheel wells with some low gloss black and covered up all the over spray, i put a new keyless entry keypad back in the door handle cuz i broke the other one changing the door handle before painting it, put the door panel back on, and hit the tires with some IBIZ water based tire dressing, good stuff, wont screw up the paint if it flings onto the paint, it has no harse chemicals in it, and it smells like candy. i took a few more pics today in the sun, ( 80 degree xmas ) and they look much better then the previous pics. hey, they are thrilled, i'm pleased, cant ask for much more then that! not only do i keep their marks alive, i made them look alive too!!

Wow, it was 80 deg there today, nice. Oh, and the Mark looks great out in the day light.

Cool pics of the progress... painting cars is an expensive and labor intensive undertaking. Mark turned out good.

Wow, thanks for the pics.

Wow, thanks for the pics.

For that price i think it came out pretty darn sweet. Good job. Taping and masking is a pain in the butt, but worth it. For the price i wouldnt complain about the trunk orange peel at all. Got any before pics of it before wet sanding the first time? You could put them at the bottom of post, before and after you get wheelwells cleaned up and new tires put on. Thanks for sharing. :)

Ahh there are the final pics.. i posted too soon or my computer is slow..haha
