Question about replacement shocks and struts for mark 8???

94 Mark 8

Registered
my dellima is im about to get the replacement shocks and struts for my 94 mark 8, but im not sure what to get. ive decided to bypass the air ride and go with regular shocks and struts because of the funds for the car not being real large right now lol...
i saw one guy on here talking about struts-r-us.com so i checked out the site, and i like the price and the products they offer so ill probably go with stuff from them, heres the link to the shocks and struts they offer http://www.struts-r-us.com/pages/2/index.htm
of the things on that site, i dont see any shocks for my mark 8 just rear springs, is there another brand of shocks ill need to buy, and if i do, do i need the springs from that site also or can i just do with shocks? i also looked into the monroe sensa track shocks, but i wasnt sure if they would fit perfectly or if i would have to make them fit.
also id like to lower the mark atleast an inch in the rear and two inches in the front, does anyone have an idea of how i should go about all this or a estimate of what it should cost?
thanks alot guys

Their is a ton of information on this change if you do a search on this site and the "other" site.
Also, I suggest you do a search on Struts r us. There is some controversial info on them too.

I've done the full conversion from strutmasters and I couldn't be happier. 1.5" drop springs and the car rides and handles like never before.

The only downside of the replacement for the "air ride" other than "it's not original" is it also loses it's ability to raise up when you put a "load" in it. The air bags would keep it level.Bud Pytko'97 LSC Silver Frost'92 F250 Banks TurboDiesel Bimini Blue'92 Prowler 5th Wheelhttp://myfilelocker.comcast.net/charlespytko/Lincoln/BudPytko97LSC.JPG

yea ive thought about all the downsides of it, but i can barely afford the replacement shocks, theres no way i can afford an all new air ride system. believe me id love nothin more than to find a cheap way of fixin my suspension and keepin it air ride.
its either go replacement, or drive it for a few months till the air ride goes completely out then junk it, and i just got the car id hate to do that so im gonna have to just replace the shocks.
