Question for you 2002 Conti owners

I have located 2 side view mirrors off a 2002 Conti...I am hoping to get them onto a 96 Mark VIII with some monir modifications.

My question is, does anyone know if "self-tinting" side view driver's side morrors was an option? or if it was available at all? Standard?

The seller has no idea.

According to the manual for the 2002 Conti...

Mirrors - Outside RearView Power

The outside rearview mirrors have the following features:
~ electrical operation
~ optional heated mirrors controlled by the heated back window system
~ available with automatic dimming
~ controlled by the outside rearview mirror control

Also goes on to say how it is controlled by driver's seat memory module and reverse drive rear view function via the J1850 communication network.

Cool...thanks JP. I am hoping a conti owner will chime in with the following info:

a way to recognize from a picture is they are self-tinting. the seller doesnt know...he knows what they came off, but that's about it...
