Rear Camber Adjustment

I have a 1995 MK VIII which has been converted to non air ride suspension. Now there is to much negative camber in the rear wheels. I have been told you need to but some sort of a conversion kit for the rear in order to adjust the camber. Is this true? If not true, could someone tell me how to adjust the rear camber or describe where the adjuster is located. Thanks Tom

It should still be adjustable stock. The ride height is likely different with coils. From the manual...

Camber, Rear

Camber is adjusted by rotating a rear suspension arm adjusting cam kit bolt at the upper arm inner pivot. Loosen the nut securing the adjustment and set camber by rotating the head of the bolt. Lock the adjustment by holding the bolt and tightening the nut to 80 N-m (59.00 lb-ft).

I once read that about a kit for the rear camber adjustment, but I adjusted mine on my CE last year with no problem. I've got a small alignment tool that helps.

Remember though, when you change the rear camber, the toe changes too. The toe is adjustable, but it's a bit different from the front.

No worries about the caster, you can't adjust that in the rear.:D

My 95 has eddies lowering springs & an additional amount of coil cut on the back to make the car level. I was still able to get the camber to spec. but it took 2 of us, a BFH, & a big prybar to get the LCA's in far enough. I haven't noticed any adverse wear since then.

I had a thunderbird when I was younger, and every time i tried to get an alignment, they gave up on the rear camber. One shop just lied and said it was in spec, but took the extra charge off and only charged me for a 2 wheel alignment. Next time they said it's out a bit, but the bolts aren't budging and we ain't doin' it. They also knocked the price down. I just lived with it until I sold the car.
