Remove air intake tube

anyone have any pics or quick instruction on how to remove the air intake tube? I want to test my passenger side plug wires. Anything I need to know to replace it (like it has a non-re-usable gasket or anyhting???)

Thanks
David

RE: Remove air intake tube

It's real easy. Just start removing bolts that are holding parts of it down. They are all easily visible. The only gasket is between the throttle body and the tube, but it is a rubber reusable one.

it looks like I have to remove the wipers and the panel under them??

RE: Remove air intake tube

You don't have to remove the wipers/panel. But it IS a tight squeeze.

After you loosen the big-head bolt that holds the tube to the TB, lift up on the tube, pivot it towards the driver's side of the vehicle, then kind of coax it out from underneath the wiper panel. Lifting up on the panel with your fingertips should give you all the space you need. Getting the tube back in place is the reverse of taking it off.

Good luck!

**EDIT** The above instructions assume that you already have disconnected the tube from the airbox, and have removed the sensor and small diameter rubber hose from the tube.
