Removing trans, a few questions.

Hey guys,

I am getting ready to pull my trans and wanted to just clear up a few questions. I have read some posts that make it seem pretty straightforward. One question is, do you have to do anything special on the dipstick tube? Is it just a matter of removing the bolt off of the back of the head and it comes out all together? And also, I am going to be swapping in a 5.4L F150 truck trans, and wondered if I will need to make any changes with the speedo gear? Some folks have suggested getting a speedcal, but I will probably wait till I get 4.10's in before I do that.

Thanks,

Craig

RE: Removing trans, a few questions.

Dipstick is easy-remove the bolt, and it just pulls right out.Replace the O-Ring while you have it out.
You need to count the output shaft teeth for the speedo driven gear to determine whether you need a speedcal or not.
