replacing Oil pan gasket

Can the oil pan gasket be replaced with out removing the K member? The service manual does not mention removing the k member or even lifting the engine a little.

You are in for a K member removal if my info is correct. Good thing you got that life time alignment.

There are people who claim it can be done without removing the k member. I don't see how this is possible. I did mine a couple of years ago, there was really nothing difficult about it. It took between 3 and 4 hours if I recall correctly.

It will be "in car", your k member however, won't.
When I did it, I raised up the engine, I loosened the k member bolts and let it hang. There wasn't enough room to get the pan out, one of the things preventing this is the oil pickup. Some people have said that you can reach inside and unbolt the oil pickup. If this is true, it seems that it would be more of a hassle than putting a jack under the k member and lowering it. If it were a cork or rubber gasket you might be able to snake it in and under the pickup, but it's not. It's a metal/rubber gasket.

Just make sure it is in fact leaking, and not just oil from the adapter gasket. When I did mine, it was due to a rotted pan.

you will need to drop k member, i just did mine last weekend, while youre in there you might as well change the oil coolant gasket and make sure your motor mounts arent busted ( 1 of mine was busted and i didnt even realize it)
