I have a clunk in the passenger side rear and my mechanic says I need new rear shocks. After reading around, sounds like it may just be the mount but with 130,000 miles I'm sure the ride would benefit from some new shocks.
I was reading this post, thanks for the write up and great pics, so I think I could tackle the project on my own: http://www.lincolnsofdistinction.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=16402
My question now is, which shocks to go with.....
I've read the comments on the cobra bilsteins, which are said to be stiffer. I don't want that. Then I see people using the Monroe which they seem to be pleased with and finally the Ford Motorcraft replacement.
I'm leaning towards the Monroe since I don't want a harsh ride, and the Motorcraft are over $275/pair.
This looks to be the shock and mount kit for Monroe, is there anything else I would need or has anyone else used this kit and run into any problems?

Any advice or comments are appreciated!!!
Thanks
