Retain Steering wheel audio controls with aftermarket stereo

I would check out the hook up instructions for the 1st year THAT AXXESS says it does work and look for comparable color coding.... Car manufacturers tend to copy themselves.....much better than to go in blind.

I'd agree with Bud on this one. Although the 98 and up is a different bodystyle, it is quite possible that the stereo wiring is still the same.

Alternatively, Crutchfield prides themselves on support and service. If their phone techs don't know a secret trick to make your current unit work, I'll bet they'd be willing to swap it out for the alternative unit.
