Rims - n - Tires

I used the "size calculator" listed above, I don't understand all of that mumbo jumbo. all I want to know is, can I fit 18's with 245's front and 275's rear? (98' LSC) If those fit, what about 295's rear? Basically, whats the biggest tire on an 18" rim I can fit? I'm gonna get summer tires and keep my (corroding) chrome 10 spokes for winter use, and I hope the larger tire will help with my complete lack of traction. I was gonna put 373's, but it won't hook with the stock 327's if I floor it from a dead stop, let alone powerbrake it, that lone right tire just spins away! It was a wet noodle before Lonnie's tune, now it just roasts one tire!

275s are probably the biggest but you may get the occasional rubbing. 295s won't that is for sure.

Obviously your rims need to be the right width/offset for this also. The best fitting wheels on my mark were 18x8.5 +35mm offset.

Traction-lok and a good brand tire will make it a different animal. When I first had 4.10s, I bought a set of 10 spokes that had Continental tires on it. They would smoke on command even with the traction-lok. The Michelins I had switched on had much better dry traction on the street. They were just 235s I believe.

I have michelin xgt -h4 M+S 225 / 60 / 16 that came with the car. They are relatively new (less than 10K on them). Yeah, I was thinking a traction lok when I install the 373's. How much does one of those units go for? I guess we buy for mustang cobra IRS? It's the same thing right? You said 18 by 8 1/2with +35 offset, was that with 245/45 and 275/40? Thats the rim / tire size combo I was thinking. Now, if I go ahead and have the car sensor lowered, that changes everything doesn't it?

My car was switched over to mustang hubs. So I was using ADR rims. I was running 245s with no rubbing. I had 3.73 and traction lock and I didn't have any traction issues.

No, I didn't lower it. All my car has is K&N Panel, silencer removed, and an X Cal 3 tune by Lonnie. As I said above, The car was a poor performing joke before the tune and now with those (albeit meager) mods all it does it smoke 1 tire with Traction Control off or cut so much power to keep traction with it on it's even worse than before. I'm sure you see my quandry. This got me thinking about traction, my desire for new 18's, and the traction I would (hopefully) get from this new tire / rim combo. That led into the gears and traction lok, which I assume will be done after the new rims. I would like to lower it as I like the look and think this might aid traction, but not at the expense of even further narrowing my rim / tire choices.
